After a lengthy performing career that included work on Broadway and Off-Broadway, in regional theaters, national tours, television and film, Robert Westenberg now concentrates on teaching, directing and playwriting. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the original Broadway casts of 鈥淚nto the Woods鈥 as the Wolf and Prince, for which he received a Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award; 鈥淭he Secret Garden鈥 as Neville Craven; and 鈥淪unday in the Park with George,鈥 in which he replaced Mandy Patinkin in the title role. He also performed the role of Javert in the Broadway production of 鈥淟es Mis茅rables.鈥 Other Broadway credits include leading roles in 鈥1776,鈥 鈥淐ompany,鈥 鈥淎be Lincoln in Illinois鈥 (Drama League Outstanding Artist), 鈥淎 Christmas Carol鈥 and 鈥淶orba鈥 (Theatre World Award).

While known for his work in musical theater, Westenberg has also appeared in numerous plays and classical works in theaters around the country. His national tour credits include 鈥淶orba,鈥 鈥淔unny Girl,鈥 鈥淭he Full Monty鈥 and 鈥淎 Beautiful Noise.鈥 His film and television credits include 鈥淭he Ice Storm,鈥 鈥淏efore and After,鈥 鈥淭he Stars Fell on Henrietta,鈥 鈥淢r. and Mrs. Bridge,鈥 鈥淪wift Justice,鈥 鈥淐entral Park West鈥 and 鈥淟aw & Order: SVU.鈥 He has sung at Carnegie Hall in 鈥淭he Gay Divorcee鈥 and can be heard on several original cast albums.

Westenberg is married to Kim Crosby and is the father of their three children. He is a graduate of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and completed his degree studies at the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver. After serving as chair of the theater department at Drury University and coordinator of the musical theater program at Missouri State University for several years, he now resides in Longmont, Colorado, teaching and directing at 性视界传媒.
