Faculty Data

The Faculty Data & Impact (FDI) team manages and maintains faculty data that supports the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) and the faculty lifecycle across ÐÔÊӽ紫ý.Ìý

In partnership with the Office of Information Technology (OIT), we oversee the Faculty Information System (FIS), ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s central system for faculty records. Human Capital Management (HCM) serves as the system of record for core employment data, while FIS captures faculty-specific lifecycle information such as tenure clocks, promotion and tenure milestones, comprehensive and post-tenure reviews, sabbaticals, retention actions, and emeritus status (see FIS records below).Ìý

In some cases, personnel actions are recorded in both systems. Together, FIS and HCM provide a comprehensive view of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s faculty.Ìý

  • Scheduled and completed dates and results for​: Comprehensive reviews, tenure reviews, post-tenure review​s, promotion to full professor review​s, sabbaticals​, and personnel actions requiring Board of Regents' approval

Separate:

  • Termination​ details including: Reasons for leaving (self-reported), terminal faculty appointments​
  • Retirement agreement​ details including for: Phased retirements, regular agreement​, and faculty years of service
  • Managing faculty appointments and updates, including administrative roles and emeritus designations
  • Maintaining data integrity across FIS and related university systems
  • Partnering with OIT’s FIS and Data & Analytics teams to enhance system capabilities and reporting tools
  • Providing access guidance and governance to ensure secure and appropriate use of faculty dataÌý
  • Supporting connections between faculty data and downstream uses such as faculty profiles (), awards, and institutional recognition efforts
